So Minnesota, playing mad scientist like Frankenstein, picked four point guards in last night’s draft and actually kept three. With Spanish phenom Ricky Rubio and Syracuse speedster Jonny Flynn going fifth and sixth, it begs the question: Is there enough room in this backcourt for both of them?

“You see the NBA going to a format with two point guards; that’s what the game is shifting to. It’s good to have two facilitators that can make plays on the course. I think we can boost each other’s level of play and I can’t wait to go play with him,” Flynn said artfully.

“You’re just a basketball player out there, whether you’re playing with a superstar, Kobe Bryant or James, they are going to have the ball most of the time anyway. But with two of you, you know you don’t have the pressure on to you do everything, so it’s going to be great.” So, isn’t there going to be comp between you and RR For shots?

“I don’t think it can be competition: We’re playing for the same goal, and that’s to win an NBA championship,” said Flynn, who averaged 17.4 ppg and 6.7 assists for the Orange, and brings the athleticism and raw speed that Rubio lacks. Not that Rubio’s a non-athlete, because he’s not _ it’s just that few can match the freakish Flynn.

“I think we can go in there and we can compromise, where he may have the ball or where I may have the ball. I think it’s going to be fun to have another player who can make plays just like you.”

So, between Flynn, Rubio and second-rounder Nick Calathes _ who left Florida for a pro deal in Greece, but is a slick passer _ who do you think gets dealt? Think the Knicks can pry Rubio away, possibly with David Lee? Or is GM David Kahn just crazy like a fox, planning to let Calathes mature in Greece and keep all three as T-Wolves property?
