I know this isn’t going to sit well with the haters who have grown to loathe everything about “Entourage” but I loved everything about the Season 6 opener, starting with (but not limited to) the it-took-them-long-enough decision to include Emmanuelle Criqui a whole lot more. And I will reiterate what I said all through last year, which I found easily the weakest season of all: we want Vinny Chase to be a winner, we want him to make big movies and always get the girl(s). Great as Johnny Drama is, who would want to see a show revolve around him? Also nice to see Ari get over his mercury poisoning.

As I point out in my column today, the Yankees are now 51-26 against the JV and 0-11 against the varsity, which is to say 0-8 against the Red Sox and 0-3 against the Angels in Angels Stadium, which has somehow become as much a house as horrors for them as Turner Field has always been for the Mets. And here’s either the good news or the bad news depending on how you view such things: the Yankees have 10 games left with the Sox and three games left in Anaheim this season.

A word of caution to Mets fans: after watching the Apple come up lame in the seventh inning at Citi Field yesterday, the team’s training staff announced it was day-to-day.
