Nobody is going to make the argument that Cody Ransom is going to approach Alex Rodriguez in any manner, shape or form if he winds up being the April Band-Aid to the Yankees’ third-base hold in the wake of A-Rod’s surgery this morning in Colorado. But as this column by my friend Ian O’Connor points out, Ransom has already been through hell and knows what the other side looks like.

Well, we are 1-2 so far in our “Best Case” game-by-game which tried to get the Knicks to 40 wins and the last slot in the Eastern Conference playoffs, and since that helpful screed had them 3-0 and at this point … well, the best to be said about that is that they’re still a game ahead of the “Worst Case” grid, which of course would have had them at 0-3 now on the way to an 0-23 finish.
