Maybe it’s right that Mets fans will never forgive Tom Glavine, both for the way he throttled their team for the better part of a decade and then for the finale from hell that he turned in against the Marlins on that last day of the season in 2007. But it should also be right, if this is indeed the end for Glavine, to recognize him for what he was: one of the best pitchers we’ve seen, and are ever likely to see.
