For the most part, there are two types of fans: front-runners and hometown fans.

And Mike Mastroni takes the term “hometown fans” to a whole new level.

Mastroni grew up in Connecticut a Los Angeles Rams fan. But when the Boston Patriots changed their name to the New England Patriots in 1971, he switched allegiances.

“Connecticut’s a New England state; I have to root for the Pats,” Mastroni, 46, said. “And I can’t root for a team with Boston in it.”

Mike’s picks are: Giants, Jets, Lions, Falcons, Bears, Redskins, Titans, Steelers, Browns, Bucs, Patriots, Chargers, Seahawks, Rams.

Last week’s fan, Louis Cennimo, went 5-9 for a .357 winning percentage. Matt Coleman retained the overall lead with a .438 winning percentage.

The fan with the highest winning percentage at the end of the season will win $1,000. In the case of a tie, the prize will be split evenly.
