His name is Brendan Jones and he is golf’s worst enemy.
Tiger Woods and Jones face off in the WGC Match Play Championship on Wednesday at 2:02 p.m. when the pair will tee off. In an amazing coincidence the GOLF Channel’s coverage starts at 2 p.m. — isn’t that lucky for them. But with the win-or-go-home format this week, Woods’ much-anticipated return could be over by Wednesday evening.
And then the tournament will be immediately canceled.
The Australian-born Jones doesn’t lack a sense of humor over the situation.
“Pretty much everybody has said that if things don’t go your way, just take out his knee,” Jones told reporters at a news conference.
