How do you say HAND OF GOD in French?

Les Bleus outlasted a tough Ireland team in their World Cup playoff after thanks to William Gallas’ extra time header gave them a 1-1 draw, and a 2-1 aggregate victory. France got outplayed, but I guess it’s better to be lucky than good _ and captain Thierry Henry got one of the luckiest handballs you’ll ever see. And you can see it here:

The Barcelona striker _ and Red Bull transfer target _ sent his team through to South Africa, but they sure didn’t deserve it. Already offside, Henry clearly controlled a Florent Malouda free-kick with an egregious hand ball, and flicked it to Gallas, who nodded home the all-important goal in extra-time.

The Irish fans chanted “Cheat! Cheat!” for all the good it did them. Matter of fact, the only good it could do is give some ammunition to those pushing for instant replay, which every sport should have if you ask me. Anyway, I almost hope Henry comes to Red Bull just so I can ask him about the Hand of God 2.0.

Main d’un Dieu, by the way….
