TBS color commentator John Thompson, Patrick Ewing’s former coach at Georgetown, said last last night during the broadcast of the Kings-Lakers game “a little birdie” told him the Knicks’ center will make his return tomorrow vs. the 76ers at the Garden.

On Nov. 17, following the Knicks-Utah game on TBS, Ewing granted Thompson a post-game interview but wouldn’t tell his ex-coach when he’d be back. On Nov. 22, Knick coach Jeff Van Gundy said he expected Ewing to return in “two-to-three” weeks but recently came off that prediction.

Knicks’ spokesperson Lori Hamamoto would not confirm the TBS report last night.
