NET NOTES

LOS ANGELES – It’s too simple – and wrong – to say the Pacers are replacing Reggie Miller and his shooting with Peja Stojakovic.

“I wouldn’t say that,” Net president Rod Thorn said after the Pacer-King trade finally went through yesterday.

“What Reggie Miller did for that team was far more than just make shots. He was a leader, one of the toughest guys in the league. He made huge shots late in games.

“Stojakovic can certainly shoot with Reggie, but whether he can do the type things Reggie did, I wouldn’t say that.”

While Stojakovic is quality, it will take a while for him to fit in.

“You get guys in the middle of the year, it normally takes some time to blend in. It’s a different style of team. Indiana is a more slowdown, deliberate team. He’s been playing his whole career with a run-and-gun team.”

Nets still waiting for Toronto to send MRI results from old exam on Lamond Murray. Nets want to compare to recent exams. Murray (knee) remained out.

Nets own Clips’ draft pick, which seems destined to be out of the lottery.

“The Clippers have a lot of road games in February,” said Thorn. “That will certainly decide a lot.”
