Tiger Woods should be forgiven for his womanizing ways, but most Americans agree that there is no forgiveness when it comes to Wall Street scammer Bernie Madoff, according to a poll released today.

In a 60 Minutes/Vanity Fair Poll, Americans said that if they had to forgive someone, a majority would excuse Woods before actor Charlie Sheen, former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards, singer Chris Brown or director Roman Polanski.

Some 22 percent would cut Woods some slack compared to Sheen (12 percent), John Edwards (five percent) and Chris Brown (three percent), according to the poll posted today on the CBS News Web site.

Polanski also appealed to only three percent of those polled — but when it came to Madoff, not one person would forgive the scammer.

Madoff was sentenced to 150 years behind bars last year for conning investors as part of a $64 billion Ponzi scheme.

Some 32 percent, however, said they would forgive all of them, while 15 percent were not ready to forgive any of the five men.

CBS News said the poll was conducted among a random sample of 1,216 adults nationwide who were interviewed by phone from February 6 to 10.
