There’s still a full week before Super Bowl XLIV kicks off — plenty of time to analyze every possible angle of the Saints-Colts matchup. Here’s a look at some of the storylines you can expect to see in the coming days in print, across airwaves and on the tube:

Puttin’ on the blitz

The Jets got two early sacks of Peyton Manning in the AFC Championship but never got to him after that. The Saints pounded Brett Favre to a pulp, and defensive coordinator Gregg Williams (right) says they’ll be hell-bent to get Manning.

Heavy hearts

Colts wide receiver Pierre Garcon and Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma will be on opposite sides on Super Bowl on Sunday, but they’re on the same team — both of them playing through the tragedy of the recent devastation of their parents’ native Haiti.

Dynamic duo

Can the prolific Saints quarterback Drew Brees and coach Sean Paytron, who both arrived in 2006, turn Super Bowl XLIV into Payton’s Place instead of Peyton’s Place?

Boogie night

He was a pariah when San Antonio was trying to woo his Saints away after Katrina. But owner Tom Benson (right) became a hero for keeping the Saints in New Orleans, and now he and the Big Easy can’t wait for the mother of all “Benson Boogies” before they hand him the Lombardi Trophy.

Shockey the world

Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey sat out the Giants’ upset of the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII with a broken leg. He’s hobbled by a knee this time, but he’s back home in Miami, where he went to college, and won’t miss this one.

Bush 2010

America has been waiting four years for Reggie Bush to be the electrifying Heisman winner he was at USC. Is this his breakout stage, or will he have enough trouble keeping up with the Kardashians?

Their kind of town

All four Colts appearances in the Super Bowl have been in Miami. The Baltimore Colts lost to the Jets 16-7 in Super Bowl III and beat the Cowboys 16-13 in Super Bowl V, both at the Orange Bowl. The Indianapolis Colts beat the Bears 29-17 in Super Bowl XLI at newly renamed Sun Life Stadium.
