The Vikings’ acquisition of Randy Moss won’t keep the Jets from winning their game on Monday night and gives Gang Green a better chance of winning the AFC East over the Patriots.

AccuScore.com forecasts the Jets have a 56 percent chance of winning the division, now that the Patriots have parted with one of their top receivers. With Moss in New England, the Jets had a 49.6 percent chance to finish ahead of the Patriots.

New England’s chance to win the division falls from 40 percent to 33 percent without Moss.

The Jets will have to face Moss with the Vikings on Monday night, but AccuScore says that will have little effect on the outcome.

Without Moss, the Jets had a 61 percent chance of winning the game. Now, the Jets have a 58.7 percent chance to defeat the Vikings, based on 10,000 simulations.

The Packers remain the prohibitive choice to finish ahead of the Vikings in the NFC North, at 62 percent. The Vikings’ chances to win the division rise to 26 percent with Moss, up from 16 percent without him.

Moss was traded to the Vikings by the Patriots for a third-round pick on Wednesday.
