Marissa Mowry knew “Ring Season” would come to Clemson long before boyfriend Trevor Lawrence captured a national title for the Tigers over Alabama on Monday night.
The Anderson University (S.C.) soccer player, who has been dating Clemson’s quarterback since early 2016, predicted Lawrence would be a champion two years before he and the Tigers steamrolled Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide, 44-16.
“Two more years then you’ll be a National Champ #GoTigers,” Mowry wrote, according to a message unearthed by TMZ.
A true freshman, Lawrence, 19, took over the role of starting quarterback from Kelly Bryant after five games. He finished 20-for-32 for 347 yards and three touchdowns in Clemson’s upset Monday.
Following the win, Mowry praised Lawrence in a sweet snap on Instagram.
“Proud. Proud not just of what you do .. but who you are. You’re one of a kind Trevor,” she shared.
