Glidemaster became the eighth trotting Triple Crown champion in history last night at Yonkers Raceway winning the $728,930 Yonkers Trot by 13/4 lengths in 1:55 4/5.

Trained by Blair Burgess and driven by George Brennan, Glidemaster (the 4-5 favorite), moved to take the lead at the half and dueled the remainder of the mile with Algiers Hall, who hung on for second. Ira K finished third.

“I was concerned that he wasn’t going to get it done, but he dug in game like he always does,” Burgess said.

“Words can’t describe it,” Brennan said of winning the Triple Crown. “[Approaching the wire] I knew I was a part of history at that point.”

Glidemaster returned $3.70 to win.
