The U.S. National Team has won the Gold Cup’s Fair Play Award, and put four players on the Gold Cup all-tournament team _ defenders Clarence Goodson and Chad Marshall, midfielder Stuart Holden and forward Kenny Cooper, who did his best work off the bench as a supersub.

Congrats to them. But I have a feeling it won’t make them feel a lot better about getting taxed 5-0 in the final by Mexico. Small shock, but Mexico’s Giovani Dos Santos _ who plays for Tottenham _ was chosen MVP. If he got his head into the game in Europe the way he did in the Gold Cup, he’d be a stud in the Premiership. Just my two cents…
