Dolphins tight end Dustin Keller, who spent his first five NFL seasons with the Jets before gambling on a one-year deal with Miami, was forced out of last night’s 24-17 preseason loss in Houston with a right knee injury.

Keller’s leg bent backwards when he was tackled on the right knee by Texans rookie D.J. Swearinger on an incomplete pass midway through the second quarter.

BRONCOS: Defensive end Derek Wolfe was placed on a backboard and taken away in an ambulance after a neck injury in the first quarter of a preseason game against the Seahawks. The Broncos said Wolfe was being evaluated for a cervical spine injury, but had movement in his arms and legs.

BILLS: Rookie quarterback EJ Manuel will miss the rest of the preseason and have a “minor procedure” on his left knee after injuring it in Friday night’s preseason win over the Vikings.

CHARGERS: Wide receiver Eddie Royal suffered what the team said was a bruised lung and possible concussion after landing hard on his back in practice.
