Sam Young scored 20 points as No. 4 Pittsburgh seized the lead with a late first-half run and went on to beat rival West Virginia 70-59 last night in Pittsburgh.

Young followed up a 22-point game in Pitt’s 79-67 win at West Virginia two weeks ago, making seven of 12 shots and adding seven rebounds. Levance Fields had 13 points and seven assists to help the Panthers (22-2, 9-2 Big East) win their fourth in a row and sixth in seven games.

Alex Ruoff scored 17 points and Devin Ebanks 16, but West Virginia (16-8, 5-6) lost its sixth in seven games against ranked Big East teams even though Pitt’s DeJuan Blair was limited to eight points and nine rebounds in 16 minutes due to foul trouble.

Missouri 62, Kansas 60

In Columbia, Mo., Zaire Taylor hit a jumper with 1.3 seconds remaining as No. 17 Missouri overcame a 30-16 halftime deficit to beat No. 16 Kansas.

Rider 74, Marist 61

In Poughkeepsie, Ryan Thompson led Rider (14-9, 9-4 MAAC) with 27 points and nine rebounds.

Siena 73, Loyola-Md. 60

In Albany, Alex Franklin led four scorers in double figures with 23 points and added 11 rebounds as Siena (19-6, 13-1 MAAC) won its 16th straight home game.

Bing. 88, Albany 75

D.J. Rivera and Emanuel Mayben combined for 52 points to lead host Binghamton (16-8, 9-3 America East) to its fourth straight win.
