Knicks point guard Charlie Ward likely won’t play tomorrow against the Hornets because of a bruised lower right leg he suffered in the fourth quarter last night.
The worst was averted when X-Rays taken at Conseco Field House after the Knicks’ loss to the Pacers were negative.
Ward left the game with 4:16 left after going on the floor for a loose ball and getting tangled up with Kurt Thomas, who landed on his leg. Ward was in excruciating pain and – the way the season has gone – the fear was he had a broken bone.
“If I’m able to run, I’ll play, but I don’t know,” said Ward, hobbling in the locker room. “It’s the ankle, Achilles, the whole nine yards.”
