Nationals phenom Bryce Harper told kids – ranging from 6 to 14 – at his first-ever baseball camp to “be as sexy as you can.”
About 220 kids showed up to the free clinic, where Harper, the 19-year-old outfielder and former No. 1 pick, also donated $2,500 to the Greater Washington Urban League. Along with the advice to be sexy, Harper told the youngsters to play baseball for the love of the game.
He was also impressed with one particular kid.
“I can’t remember his name, but he’s an absolute stud,” Harper said. “I told him he was gonna be a big leaguer and he just looked at me like I was crazy. He’s 11 years old and he’s unbelievable. He’s got a great swing.”
Harper is still a teen and has been rather quotable this year along with being an All-Star.
