Lionel Messi smiled and shook the hand of a fan who ran on the field during Argentina’s friendly with Germany on Wednesday, an eventual 3-1 Argentina victory in Frankfurt.

The invader, who was carrying what appeared to be flowers able, was able to interact with the players rather unimpeded. He was then politely escorted off the pitch by one security guard.

No chase, no dog pile. He did seem relatively harmless — and very psyched to get a chance to touch one of the best player in the world’s hand.

Messi scored once in the victory, but missed a penalty kick.
