This deep in the season, it normally takes a major injury to vault waiver players to the forefront. Without such an event this week, the pickings are slim. But if you’ve got an expendable spot on your roster, you can find some worthy gambles.

Michael Crabtree, WR, 49ers

We don’t expect much this season, and certainly not a lot this week, though he will get to start. But it’s hard to ignore this type of talent. Stranger things have happened. It’s worth cutting someone such as Nate Washington, Domenick Hixon and the like.

Jeremy Maclin, WR, Eagles

Despite a down week vs. the Raiders, he has big-play potential, and QB Donovan McNabb looked his way a lot in Week 5.

Mohamed Massaquoi, WR, Browns

If you are one of the few who believe the Browns can muster any offense at some point this season, then Massaquoi is worth a grab. Only drop a bye-week fill-in to pick up this guy, though.

Michael Bush, RB, Raiders

You’re really reaching here. But a head injury kept him out last week. And though we have no grand projections for the Raiders offense, Bush could turn in a decent game somewhere down the schedule. If you’re lucky, it could fall on the week you use him as a bye-week fill-in.
