The dream became a reality Saturday when Westport Little League rode the big right arm of Chad Knight to its first Little League World Series berth in 62 years of existence.

But what do the undefeated Connecticut 11- and 12-year olds have for an encore?

Today, Westport (18-0) begins the round-robin tournament against South Nashville, Tenn., the Southeast champion, with either Knight or co-ace Harry Azadian on the mound at Lamade Stadium n Williamsport, Pa.

The two fireballers combined for 70 percent of Westport’s innings with five wins, one save and a miniscule 0.73 ERA in the New England Regional tournament. Westport is continuing the recent success of the Nutmeg State as the fourth Connecticut team to reach Williamsport in the last six years. However, only Trumbull National won it all, back in 1989 behind now retired hockey star Chris Drury. — Zach Braziller
