What to watch tonight

No. 4 Pittsburgh at No. 1 UConn, 7 p.m. ESPN
A showdown of two of the elite teams in the country, which includes two of the best big men going head to head. The Huskies’ Hasheem Thabeet (left) against the Panthers’ DeJuan Blair (right).
What’s on the line? The inside track to a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Pitt’s won five straight after a 2-2 stretch that saw them fall from the top spot in the rankings. While Connecticut has reeled off 13 straight following their lone loss of the season, which came at home against Georgetown.
Rangers at Blues, 7 p.m. VS
Uh oh. The ‘Fire Renney’ and ‘Fire Sather’ chants started yesterday at the Garden during a 5-2 drubbing at the hands of the rival Flyers. The Blueshirts still have a little breathing room, but a playoff spot is far from guaranteed.
They are currently the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference – five points clear of the Hurricanes who are in ninth. But the biggest danger, if the Rangers continue to slide, could come from the Penguins who are in tenth place, seven points back of the Rangers.
The Rangers have one win and two shooutout losses in their previous eight games – a stretch where they have been outscored 33-13. The tremendous 10-2-1 start this team got off to is a distant memory.
