Willis Reed limping onto the court to a deafening roar before tip-off of Game 7 of the 1970 Finals earned first place in the History Channel’s fan poll of Great Moments in Knicks’ history. The Knicks won their first title that night as Walt Frazier exploded for 36 points and had 19 assists.

The History Channel announced the top three “greatest moments” last night and, in an upset, Allan Houston’s bounce shot in Game 5 of the first-round series that eliminated Miami finished in second place, beating out the Knicks’ 1973 championship.

Game 5 of the ’70 Finals came in third when Reed got hurt and the Knicks rallied from a 13-point halftime deficit to beat the Lakers and take a 3-2 series lead.
