The Rangers’ appearance in the NHL Winter Classic will also put them on HBO’s Emmy-winning series “24/7,” the Toronto Globe and Mail reports.

The newspaper has NHL chief operating officer John Collins confirming the game and the HBO series. Though the league has not confirmed either with an official announcement, Collins calls it “the worst-kept secret in hockey.”

Last year, “24/7” featured Winter Classic combatants Washington and Pittsburgh, and the series won a Sports Emmy award for edited special.

“24/7” began as a series leading up to network boxing matches; the Capitals-Penguins was its first with another sport.
