Fordham Prep coach Pete Gorynski said it would be difficult for his team to get over the disappointment of losing the CHSFL AA final to Xaverian on Sunday.

He was right to be concerned, as his Rams lost to Xavier on Thanksgiving for the first time in six years, falling 28-14 yesterday at Fordham University’s Coffey Field in the 64th annual meeting between the schools.

Mount St. Michael managed to close out its season with a victory and extend its winning streak over Cardinal Hayes to 26 games with a 14-0 victory at the Mount.

In the teams’ 82nd meeting, Louis Alicea rushed for 111 yards as the Mountaineers recovered from a 21-20 loss to St. Anthony’s in the CHSFL AAA title game on Sunday.

Stepinac knocked off White Plains, 30-0, in another Thanksgiving game.
