This Oakland fan got soaked by a beer while the Yankees blew out his team in the Bronx — and now the Athletics want to get him some new gear that doesn’t reek of beer.

A 23-second clip circulating on Twitter shows an unidentified Yankees fan in the left-field bleachers dump an entire beer on an unwitting A’s fan while the Yankees sailed to a 7-2 victory in Wednesday’s wild-card game at Yankee Stadium.

The offending fan, who was wearing a Yankees jacket, doused the man in an Athletics jersey before throwing the plastic cup at his head as the stadium erupted in cheers. The soaked fan then turned around to find out who drenched him, seemingly unaware of the man who appeared to be one row behind him.

The upsetting footage prompted the A’s to ask Twitter users to track down the fan so the team “could hook him up” with some new team apparel. He later identified himself as John Spencer, an Oakland native now living in Brooklyn.

“That’s me!!” Spencer replied on Twitter. “Never been more proud to be an A’s fan … Sad my Chavez jersey got covered in beer but it was so worth it! Y’all are the best!”
