Former Yankees catcher John Flaherty’s studio gig with SportsNet New York, the new Mets network, lasted exactly zero days.

In a move that seemed to be covered with George Steinbrenner’s DNA, the Yankees’ YES Network is expected to hire Flaherty to work its “batting practice” pre-pregame show. After a two-day tryout on SNY – a tryout that apparently caught YES’ attention – Flaherty was negotiating a steady studio gig with SNY. Now he appears headed to YES.
