Hideki “Godzilla” Matsui’s old boss wants him to play for The Boss.

“Personally, I would like him to join the Yankees,” Yomiuri Giants owner Tsuneo Watanabe said at a farewell party for the left-handed free agent slugger.

Many believe the Yankees and the 28-year-old Matsui, who hit 50 homers this year, have a deal in place worth $24 million over two years.

Jason Giambi made a recruiting pitch yesterday.

“The rumor mill says he wants to go to New York and we would be excited to have him,” said Giambi, who is part of a MLB all-star team touring Japan.
