Izzo also pulled one of the coolest moves I’ve ever seen during the UConn game. With 2:22 left, his team up nine but struggling to get into its offense, he called timeout. Immediately after the time out, off a side-inbounds play, Goran Suton found Darrell Summers for a back-door lay-up. Most eyes shifted to the play. If you watched Izzo, you saw him cap his orange Sharpie, and cast it aside, as if saying, “My work is done here.” Man, he’s good.

It is wonderful that Alex Rodriguez‘s rehab is going so well, and that he now thinks he can return by the end of April. But it is again intriguing to wonder: what if the Yankees are, say, 18-4 by then? Wouldn’t that just be the perfect backdrop to his return?
