Carmelo Anthony may not make it to the free-agent market.

The Nuggets forward is expected to accept the Nuggets offer of a three-year, $65 million extension, according to a Denver Post report. There is no timetable for him to sign the extension with Anthony getting married in New York on Saturday.

And Anthony would want to see some roster upgrades by the Nuggets before signing, according to the report.

“It’s an option,” Anthony told the Post last month when asked about the extension. “All my options are open right now.”

Amar’e Stoudemire, who has agreed to a five-year contract with the Knicks, has hinted that Anthony would come to New York to play with him if he becomes a free agent in 2011.

An ESPN report states that even if Anthony decides not to sign the extension, the Nuggets still would not consider trading him.
