Venus Williams is one win away from her miraculous Wimbledon run ending with the trophy.
The five-time champion at the All England Club beat Johanna Konta 6-4, 6-2 in Thursday’s semifinals on Centre Court.
Williams, 37, became the oldest Wimbledon finalist in 23 years. She reached the Wimbledon final for the ninth time — and the first since 2009. Williams won her Wimbledon titles in 2000, ’01, ’05, ’07 and ’08. She is now 9-1 in Wimbledon semifinals.
Konta was hoping to become the first British woman to reach the final at Wimbledon since Virginia Wade won it in 1977.
Williams will face Garbine Muguruza, a Wimbledon finalist in 2015, in Saturday’s final.
