Two key members of the Yankees’ 2009 World Series team are in talks with the White Sox.

Hideki Matsui and Johnny Damon have both been targeted by Ozzie Guillen’s club, the Chicago Tribune reports.

After winning the World Series MVP with the Yankees in 2008, Matsui signed a one-year deal with the Angels. He hit .274 with 21 home runs and 84 RBIs for the Angels, who are the favorites to land Carl Crawford this offseason.

Damon went to the Tigers and hit .271 with eight home runs. Damon told The Post that he would like to return to the Yankees, but the feeling does not appear to be mutual.

If the White Sox do decide to make an offer to Matsui and/or Damon it would likely would not be until Dec. 2 – the day non-tender free agents become available.
