“Pascal Siakam won’t be able to shoot 14-of-17 from the floor again.”
It’s the phrase shouted by pundits and Golden State backers after Game 1 went to Toronto, and it is accurate. To expect Siakam to shoot at such a high clip from the floor is foolhardy. Nevertheless, it is also foolish to think Kyle Lowry will score just seven points, or that Kawhi Leonard will shoot just 5-of-14 again.
The Raptors are the best defensive team this Warriors dynasty has faced in its five-year run, and that is the reason why they averaged just .839 points per possession in the half-court. The Raptors’ defense is real.
Sunday, Toronto will be the play again, but wait until just before tip-off. The public is very much in the Warriors’ corner, and those who wish to back the Raptors will get a much better number than the minus-2 currently on the boards.
The play: Raptors, -2.
