Major League Baseball has tons of young stars who are catching tons of buzz and attention, but for some reason Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zac Gallen has not received the spotlight many others have and will look to put the nation on notice Sunday against the Braves.

Gallen has allowed three runs or fewer in 27 of his 29 career starts, but does not have a record that would reflect those efforts: He is 6-8 with a 2.84 ERA while getting 10.9 strikeouts per nine innings.

The Braves will be sending out a young pitcher of their own, 23-year old Bryse Wilson, to oppose him. Wilson has amassed a 4-1 record in 16 total appearances, eight of which have been starts, despite a 5.66 ERA with 1.7 home runs and 4.9 walks per nine innings allowed.

The Diamondbacks’ offense will look to provide Gallen some support. Arizona entered the weekend third in the league in runs per game with 5.2 per game and is seventh in the league in the lowest percentage of at-bats that end in a strikeout.

Both teams have nearly identical bullpen ERAs, and Wilson has pitched at least five innings in just four career regular-season starts, so Gallen should help the snakes rattle home a win.

The Play: Diamondbacks, +115.
