The St. Louis Cardinals have won 16 straight games and swept the Milwaukee Brewers last week, so NL Central-leading Milwaukee will have revenge on its mind as it goes to St. Louis to start a three-game series Tuesday.

The Brewers give Brandon Woodruff the start and though his 9-10 record isn’t impressive, he owns a 2.52 ERA, .194 opponents batting average, and on a per-possession basis has allowed 0.9 home runs and 2.2 walks.

The Cardinals give Adam Wainwright the start, coming off a start against the Brewers on Thursday in which he allowed five runs in four innings and has gotten four strikeouts or fewer in all five of his starts in September as the 40-year old has pitched more than 200 innings for the first time since 2014.

The Brewers are 63-31 when Willy Adames is in the lineup compared to 31-31 without him. They were averaging just 3.65 runs per game prior to his Brewers debut on May 22 and have averaged 4.97 runs per game since.

With Adames looking like himself with two home runs in his past three games after missing 14 games this month and with the Brewers owning a 49-26 road record, which is the second-best in the MLB, the Brewers will end the Cardinals’ win streak.

The Play: Brewers, -115.
