The Subway Series is back … if only for one game. The Mets visit the Yankees on Monday night in a makeup of a July 22 rainout, with Jacob deGrom (6-7) going for the Mets against Luis Severino (15-5).

Both pitched against the other team earlier this season — and lost — despite giving up only two earned runs each.

I can’t bet Severino right now. He’s lost three of his last four starts, and even though he’s 8-1 at home, he’s also given up nine runs in his past 16 ²/₃ innings at the Stadium.

DeGrom finally got some run support in his last start and the Mets beat the Reds. Despite his MLB-leading 1.77 ERA, with a crazy 0.96 WHIP, it was his first win in his past eight starts. That’s really sad, as he’s given up only 13 earned runs during that 56-inning span.

The play: I think deGrom will need to go at least seven innings, but here’s a vote saying he and the Mets get it done.
