There are two “Monday Night Football” games on this week’s NFL slate, but the one I’m eyeing is the matchup between Minnesota and Philadelphia.
I took the Eagles as a top play in Week 1 as 4-point favorites over the Lions. Philadelphia led by 17 heading into the fourth quarter but gave up two scores to only win by a score of 38-35. Some might look at those as meaningless garbage-time touchdowns, but I wasn’t impressed with the Eagles’ defense at all.
The Lions were able to rush for 181 yards and the game really turned on a Jared Goff pick-six. I see the Eagles having all kinds of issues with a Minnesota offense that’s much more versatile than the one Philadelphia faced in Week 1. Just ask the Packers, who allowed 395 total yards and 6.5 yards per play to Minnesota in the opener.

Vikings running back Dalvin Cook USA TODAY SportsThis line has stayed pretty steady all week long, with the Eagles laying 2.5 points at home. I understand Philly being a slight home favorite, but I actually make Minnesota -1 in this matchup. By Monday night, hopefully we can get the Vikings at +3, if money comes in on the home team.

Look for Dalvin Cook and Justin Jefferson to have big games against an Eagles defense that looked shaky in the opener. I like the Vikings to get the win to start 2-0 under new head coach Kevin O’Connell.
