Sometimes dreams really do come true. 

And for this sports bettor, they can be profitable as well. 

A college football gambler named Zach, who goes by the handle @zkboomstick11 on X, dropped 35 cents on the exact score of New Year’s Day’s college football semifinal matchup between Washington and Texas, betting that the game would finish 37-31 Huskies. 

Incredibly, Zach nailed it, somehow avoiding blowing up his FanDuel account. 

“Literally had 35 cents left in the account and had a dream about the game last night and that was the score lmaooo,” Zach wrote on X. 

At +29000, the bet won him $101.85. 

The wager, of course, had to go perfectly for payout. 

At halftime, the bet looked like it could be dead with the teams tied at 21-21.

But a relatively low-scoring second half kept Zach’s hopes alive. 

Down 37-31 with 15 seconds to go, Texas had four plays to win the game and destroy Zach’s big bet. 

But after one completion for a loss and three incomplete passes, Washington prevailed, holding the score and cashing in what will likely be one of the luckiest exact score bets of 2024. 

There is a lot that can go wrong with exact score bets, but the money can be massive if they hit. 

During the 2023 men’s basketball national title game, another FanDuel bettor wagered $5 to win $1,800 on Connecticut to score 76 and San Diego State 59.

The odds for that bet sat at a whopping 360/1.
