The last tine Texas Tech and Kansas met, Allen Fieldhouse was rocking and so were the Jayhawks, to a 79-63 victory. Texas Tech has covered four straight games since then and has revenge on its mind.

In this four-game win streak, Texas Tech has allowed 61 points or fewer in each contest. For the year, the Red Raiders have the country’s top defense with regard to points-per-possession allowed. To go along with that, they enter this game having improved on the offensive end.

For the season, Texas Tech is 122nd in offensive efficiency, but star guard Jarrett Culver is now getting help from his friends, with Davide Moretti and Matt Mooney combining to average 23.8 points per game in this stretch.

It has led Texas Tech to being ranked 17th among Division I teams in offensive efficiency in its past three games.

Kansas has been dealing with the loss of big man Udoka Azubuike, but also does not have guard Lagerald Vick, who was 3-for-4 on 3-pointers in the first game and for the year is making 45.5 percent of his outside shots.

Texas Tech is fourth in the country in opponents’ 3-point shooting percentage this season, and the first time around — with Vick — Kansas shot 13-for-30 from deep. The 79 points Kansas scored are the most Texas Tech has allowed this season, with only one other opponent getting to 70.

Things have changed from when these teams met a few weeks ago, and it should result in some sweet revenge in Lubbock for a defense-oriented Texas Tech bunch.

The play: Texas Tech, -5 ¹/₂.
