A weekend series between the Yankees and Red Sox resumes on Saturday.
On the mound for the Bombers will be Domingo German (3-3, 3.69 ERA) with pitching-starved Boston turning to Tanner Houck (3-5, 5.46 ERA).
Take away one poor outing against the Mariners and German has been rolling over the past month.
In his other five starts, German has allowed just six runs over 28²/₃ innings.
German pitched well in two starts against the Red Sox last season, giving up eight hits and four runs in 11 innings.
Like most of the Red Sox staff, Houck has been brutal recently, allowing four runs or more in four of his last six starts.
