It’s all but guaranteed that Victor Wembanyama will be selected No. 1 overall by the San Antonio Spurs in Thursday night’s 2023 NBA Draft.

Oddsmakers at DraftKings Sportsbook have Wembanyama’s odds to go first at -20,000, which is about as much of a sure thing as you’ll ever see in sports.

One bettor is so sure Wembanyama will go No. 1 that they were willing to put $60,000 on the line – to win just $300.

They’ll either walk away on Thursday with cash for a nice night out or an all-time bad beat.

For a couple of years now, Wembanyama has been the jewel of the 2023 NBA Draft class and a potential franchise-changing talent.

The French sensation is widely considered the best prospect since LeBron James in 2003 and one of the best in NBA history.

It’s nearly impossible to imagine anyone but Wemby going No. 1, but it takes a ridiculous amount of money to walk away with anything worth it if (and when) this bet hits.

Read the New York Post’s coverage for the 2023 NBA Draft:

A $100 bet would net just 50 cents. A $1,000 bet, which, in most cases, is more than most bettors are willing to wager, would payout just $5.

But if you have the funds like this DraftKings bettor, and are willing to put an obscene amount of capital (and potential embarrassment, for that matter) on the line, it might be the surest bet you’ll ever see.
