The betting public isn’t bullish on the Bears next season.

In Year 1 of the Caleb Williams era in Chicago, the Bears have attracted the most bets and money wagered at BetMGM Sportsbook of any NFL team to miss the playoffs this year at +105.

After finishing 7-10 last season, Chicago is looking to return to the postseason for the first time since 2020.

The Bears are currently -125 to make the postseason with an over/under of 8.5 wins.

They trail the Lions (+130) and Packers (+210) with the third-best odds to win the NFC North (+375), ahead of only the Vikings (+750).

Chicago has revamped its offense this offseason, starting with the selection of Williams as the first overall pick in April’s NFL Draft.

The Bears also added to their wide receiver group, trading for six-time Pro Bowler Keenan Allen and drafting Rome Odunze, and bringing in free agent running back D’Andre Swift, who is expected to slot in as the team’s No. 1 ball carrier.

The Bears are trying to build on a strong finish to the 2023 NFL season with a new quarterback behind center.

After going 2-7 through nine games, the Bears went 5-3 over the second half of the season behind an improved defense, which held opponents to 20 points or fewer in all but one of their final eight games.

Playoffs or not, Bears fans will get a show with Williams as the team’s new signal-caller.

Williams is a heavy favorite to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award (+160).

Betting on the NFL?

He’s also getting some love in the NFL MVP conversation.

Williams opened at 50/1 on DraftKings to win the Award, the 19th-best odds on the board.

Those are the best preseason odds of any rookie to win the NFL MVP Award in the last 15 years.
