NFL Week 7 concludes with yet another doubleheader installment of ‘Monday Night Football’, with two contests to wager on.

The opening game is an NFC matchup between a pair of former No. 1 overall picks, as Baker Mayfield leads the Buccaneers (5-1) into battle against Jared Goff and the Lions (4-2).

Kickoff for the Buccaneers vs. Lions is set for 7 p.m. ET on ABC.

Tampa Bay sits atop the NFC South division despite multiple injuries to key offensive players. Starters Chris Godwin (fibula), Bucky Irving (foot/shoulder), and rookie standout Emeka Egbuka (hamstring) are all out for this game.

Rachaad White has taken over the backfield, while Sterling Shepherd and Tez Johnson have seen increased roles at wide receiver. In addition, veteran Mike Evans (hamstring) is trending toward returning tonight.

The Bucs have won four games by three points or less this season, including a field goal victory against the Jets in Week 2. Mayfield sits in the top 10 amongst QBs, in both total passing yards (1,539) and touchdowns (12) with just one interception this season.

I tip my hat off to Mayfield and head coach Todd Bowles for stringing together wins, but a hungry Lions team awaits them on Monday night.

Goff is currently tied for third in passing touchdowns with 14, and boasts a league-best 75.9% completion rate. The Lions’ offense features elusive backs Jahmyr Gibbs, David Montgomery, sure-handed tight end Sam LaPorta, and speedster Jameson Williams.

However, it all starts with two-time All-Pro wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown. He ranks first in receiving touchdowns (six) and is tied for sixth in receptions (44) entering the week. I’m zeroing in on St. Brown in this matchup due to his overall consistency and high target rate.

The USC product finished with 11 catches on 18 targets for 118 yards last season against Tampa Bay. If the game script calls for a high-scoring affair, the Lions will have to rely on St. Brown and their passing attack to keep up.

Detroit offensive coordinator Jon Morton is sure to utilize Gibbs and Montgomery in space with carries on the ground. An established run game should open up play-action plays downfield for St. Brown, Williams, and LaPorta.

The Bucs defense ranks 21st in passing yards allowed, allowing 231.3 per game. Bowles likes to send pressure, as Tampa is blitzing at the sixth-highest rate among defenses.

Sure, Mayfield will do all he can to keep his Bucs around, but there’s something about the energy of Campbell and the Lions following a loss that many teams can’t replicate.

The over/under is 52.5 across several books for this “Monday Night Football” matchup, suggesting plenty of fast-paced offense will be on display.

Many books have St. Brown’s receiving yards line at 78.5, which seems to be a bit too low. I’m confident he’ll cover this player prop with ease and some more. Backing a huge night for the Lions’ WR 1.
