He who laughs last … In a new series called “Playground Compliments,” new Dodgers Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto went face-to-face in an attempt to make the other laugh first.
After a few softballs like, “Your throwing style is beautiful” and “You are more handsome Ohtani-san” having little to no effect, it was Yamamoto’s “I’m in a little trouble. Can you write me a check for $500,000” that sealed the deal.
While these millionaires are laughing all the way to the bank, Stitchamoto may have to contact Ohtani’s new interpreter before long.
