Toronto will host Columbus on Tuesday in an essentially meaningless game for both clubs.

While the Leafs technically still have to wrap up home-ice advantage for their Round One series with the Tampa Bay Lightning, they are four points ahead of the Bolts with a game in hand.

And if Sunday night’s loss to Detroit was any indication, the Leafs aren’t all that fussed about it, as they sat several key players to keep everyone fresh for the NHL playoffs in two weeks. We could see a similar situation against Columbus.

Blue Jackets vs. Maple Leafs prediction

Bookmakers often won’t adjust their prices until the lineups are confirmed.

We saw this on Sunday, when money poured in on the Red Wings after the Leafs announced Mitch Marner, Jake McCabe and Mark Giordano would sit.

Toronto is a much better team but this number is too high considering the Leafs will likely sit some of their star players and could go with No. 3 goaltender Joseph Woll with Matt Murray injured and Ilya Samsonov coming off back-to-back appearances over the weekend.

Betting on the NHL?

It’s ugly, but it’s Columbus or nothing at this price.
