August is a time for optimism, so let’s start with why the Dolphins can be positive. The defense is decent, the schedule is relatively weak, and Jay Cutler is gone to reality TV. Ryan Tannehill returns at quarterback after missing last year with a left knee injury.

Tannehill faces an uphill challenge. Miami traded its top receiver (Jarvis Landry, 112 receptions) and released its captain on the offensive line (Mike Pouncey). The Dolphins, 6-10 last year and less talented this year, will be battling Buffalo for the AFC East basement. Unless coach Adam Gase is a magician on the side, his team is not winning seven games.

The play: Dolphins Under 6 ¹/₂ wins (+110)
