Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Corbin Burnes’ season thus far has been historic with a 0.37 ERA and 40 strikeouts without a walk issued and he will look to keep the dominance going on Monday against the Miami Marlins.

The Marlins entered the week tied with the Mets for fewest home runs per game and have top slugger Starling Marte currently on the injured list.

The Marlins are also striking out on 29.1 percent of their at-bats on the road — not ideal when facing a pitcher in Burnes who is striking out 14.8 per nine innings while giving up a league-low among qualified pitchers three hits per nine innings.

The Brewers also have offensive deficiencies, leading the league in strikeout rate and have to face a starting pitcher in Trevor Rogers who is striking out 12.7 hitters per nine innings and has allowed just one home run in 22 innings this season.

Six of Burnes’ last seven starts have gone under the total and the other was a push. With a pair of strikeout pitchers facing lineups that strike out a ton to start with, runs figure to be hard to come by in Milwaukee on Monday.

The play: Marlins vs. Brewers Under 6.5 runs.
