It was one of the more memorable Saturdays in Masters history.
Jim Nantz endorsed it himself.
The third round began with a six-stroke lead for Rory McIlroy, the largest lead ever heading into Masters weekend at Augusta National. It finished with him sharing the top of the leaderboard with Cameron Young, who shot a brilliant 7-under 65, matching the best round of the week.
McIlroy, who fired a 1-over 73, remains the favorite to win the Masters on Sunday at FanDuel Sportsbook, priced at +135.
He and Young, who climbed to +240, are 11-under through 54 holes.
McIlroy’s momentum was stunted with three bogeys and a double bogey on the day. What also didn’t help the reigning Masters champion is that every player on the first page of the leaderboard was either even or under par in their Saturday rounds.
Young’s mastery featured eight birdies and only one bogey as he nailed 16 of 18 greens in regulation and took sole ownership over the lead at one point.
Updated Masters odds after Round 3
The New York native began the tournament 4-over on the first nine holes.
Sam Burns continues to linger after he shot a 4-under 68. Burns, who was tied with McIlroy for the lead after Thursday, is now listed at 7/1 odds.
Scottie Scheffler isn’t letting anyone forget him. The world No. 1-ranked player matched Young’s 7-under 65 score to surge back up the leaderboard to T-7 at 7-under overall. Scheffler had looked all but out of it after carding a 2-over 74 on Friday, but he is now back in the odds conversation at 10/1.
Rory McIlroy walks off the green after the third round of the Masters at Augusta Nationals on April 11, 2026. APShane Lowry also made headlines with an ace on the par-3 sixth hole. The Irishman became the first player in history to record multiple hole-in-ones at the Masters as he famously hit one on the par-3 16th hole in 2016.
It was the seventh ace ever recorded on the sixth hole in Masters history and the first since Corey Conners’ in 2021.

Lowry’s day ended with a 4-under 68 that propelled him to fourth place and 13/1 to win the green jacket.
Patrick Reed and Tommy Fleetwood slid down the oddsboard after scoring even par and 1-over, respectively.
