Sometimes a line jumps off the page at you right away, and that’s what is happening with the Premier League match between Fulham and West Ham United on Saturday. The Hammers are a -135 favorite at home in the three-way market at BetMGM, while the Cottagers are a sizable underdog at +340.

On one hand, it makes sense that the market is high on West Ham and low on Fulham at the moment. The Hammers are coming off a 2-0 victory against Wolverhampton, while Fulham got pasted, 4-1, by Newcastle at home. Throw in that West Ham finished seventh last season and made it to the Europa League final. Meanwhile, Fulham is a newly promoted side and one of the favorites to be relegated, so you can start to see the logic behind the wide gap in these odds.

But if you take a step back and look at how these two teams have played this season, doors start to open for Fulham. The Cottagers may rank last in expected goals allowed and big chances conceded, but West Ham’s offense has been dreadful this season and ranks near the bottom in those same categories.

The Hammers just aren’t the type of team that can exploit Fulham’s defensive deficiencies. Matchups are important and this one says the Cottagers are a little mispriced.

West Ham closed as even-money favorites at home to Wolves last weekend and there’s not a 35-cent difference between Wolverhampton and Fulham. Take the big number on the Cottagers.

The play: Fulham +340
